THIS IS THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER....This is truth that WILL SET YOU FREE!
I am bound with a reality that I can not shake, or throw off. It is the reality of dark dark days. It is not being a pessimist, or a Debbie downer. It is not being depressed or some sick fascination with gloom, doom and suffering. It is a present day real life burden from the Lord. I did not choose it, ask for it, nor want it. All I can do it walk with it. Share it. Breath it and live it!
Have you ever felt like you look at something that is no doubt there, but everyone even though they do not see it........Say everything contrary to what you see? Well this is my life. A blanket being knitted together for the one I love. Yes He has chosen this rusty ole needle called the vandermeulens, but the craftsmanship is FLAWLESS! Do you want to know how I know. How I can have faith in the one who is moving this old instrument...... I trust Him, because I have tasted of His goodness. I have step out on the waters time and time again and He has ALWAYS been there...Not to rescue....BUT TO LEAD! He is the master of the waves. The Master of the universe. The Master of men, and the Master of all situations. And this past Saturday ......I was reading through the Word and He allowed my eyes to fall upon something POWERFUL....... DANGEROUS. TRUTH!
John 8:34-38-
34Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.
35Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever.
36So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
37I know that you are Abraham’s descendants. Yet you are looking for a way to kill me, because you have no room for my word.
38I am telling you what I have seen in the Father’s presence, and you are doing what you have heard from your father.
The truth is this......If the sons sets you free you are free indeed....The danger is that if the Son sets you free you are free indeed! You see freedom costs. It is liberation in one sense and you can dance and raise your hands, shout and praise the Lord...But there is a flip side. You just because an enemy. You see WE forget sometimes that before we are liberated we are an enemy of GOD! The world is at war with him, Men hate him, and satan despises Him....That puts as a God hater, a sinner rebelling against everything good, and in GRAVE danger because your death is inevitable and your sure judgement day right around the corner....WHAT DO YOU THINK GOD is going to do to His enemies? Well He is going to trample them under foot! And damn them to hell for eternal punishment. That is not such a bright future......So yes, jump, shout and praise because you are set free..... BUT If you leave one side of the battle to the other does it end there? OF COARSE NOT! The battle continues you have just flipped sides. Here's the dangerous part......
Exodus 5- Bricks without straw. A quick summary (read it though it is super good applied to this) Moses and Aaron are sent to Pharaoh to bring the news of liberation. Moses asks...NO TELLS Pharaoh to let the people go so they can go hold a festival in the wilderness....(Exactly what a believer does here on earth huh...HOLD PRAISE SERVICES IN this WILDERNESS of life!) But Pharaoh says forget you and your stupid God......... And in fact things get drastically worse. Pharaoh commands...sort of flexes his muscles and issues a command that the slaves...(GOD'S PEOPLE) get their own straw to make the bricks! This is such a harsh command that when the overseers of the slaves leave Pharaoh at the end of the chapter...THEY tell moses...the LORD JUDGE you! You have made us a stench in Pharaoh's nose and you and your little liberation message...HAS PUT A SWORD TO OUR THROATS! Serious business!
Here is the jist of it. Everyone who sins is a slave. You are encamped in EGYPT(flesh) and are an enemy to God, His ways, and principles....... All of the sudden the SON....The one who had never sinned therefore has ALWAYS had a permanent place in the family..(otherwise we are doomed) The Son brings forth the key of liberation to set people free......And If the Son (the permanent household member) Sets you free you are free in deed! BUT EGYPT (this world, the flesh) HAS ALWAYS and always will HATE GOD! There is nothing in the world, it's principles, culture, mindset, or within humanity that will side with GOD! It is cursed. Otherwise within it you can find some sort of Hope. But that is impossible. IT IS ALL WITHIN CHRIST AND SOLELY WITHIN HIM. That is why verses like all those who desire to live godly lives..IN CHRIST JESUS.....WILL BE PERSECUTED, and verses like blessed are when you suffer and are persecuted FOR MY NAME SAKE! Families will be divided BECAUSE OF ME! Jesus and the liberation he brings....CAUSES MANY PROBLEMS! PERIOD!
That is why people hear about being free....They get excited for a second, but than like in Exodus 16-2 In the desert the whole community grumbled against Moses and Aaron. 3 The Israelites said to them, “If only we had died by the Lord’s hand in Egypt! There we sat around pots of meat and ate all the food we wanted, but you have brought us out into this desert to starve this entire assembly to death.”

They FORGET they are on a narrow path...leading to a PROMISED LAND. This is not that land, this is the wilderness! This is not the best life now...This is hard. We are surrounded by the enemies of the Lord. IT WILL NOT BE EASY! WE ARE NOT AT PEACE HERE! We are at peace before the judge KING, if we are set free from our sin...But we are at all out war here.....If your life is hard because of Jesus..GOOD! More than likely you have been called out of Egypt. Not buckle down and cling to HIS LIFE! Just thought i would encourage you all with that today!
